MB Piland's digital advertising for Topeka/Shawnee County just caught the eye of an influential economic development blogger in the UK. I guess we hooked him too, because he clicked on through to the new GO Topeka website and had some great things to say about the We Can Do That attitude we convey to visitors.
Martin Roche writes in his blog etoile, "As we all know, there is not a lot of good economic news around the world at present, so it makes the heart beat a little faster to come across an organization like Go Topeka. It transmits those vital qualities of enthusiasm, infectious energy and professionalism. Enthusiasm, energy and professionalism are three of the essential elements needed to take the world back to confidence and growth."

MB Piland Fat Free Advertising & Marketing won Bronze Quill honors at the International Association of Business Communicators Topeka annual awards for its work on Learning Quest and SquareOne Credit Suite.
The competition about more than pretty images and clever words. Entries are evaluated on a number of criteria including creativity, effectiveness and work plan. They were reviewed by IABC member judges in Iowa, Florida and Texas.
“We are proud of this recognition for our client work,” said Alex Reilly, Vice President and Agency Principal. “We’re known for our outstanding creative work, but we also have a depth of strategy behind everything we do. It’s gratifying to win awards that consider results an important part of the picture.”
Martha Bartlett Piland was honored March 23 as ABWA Career Chapter 2010 Woman of Outstanding Achievement. A luncheon in her honor raises scholarship funds for women pursuing a degree at Washburn University.
"It's exciting to receive this award and to know that the honor has a lasting effect—creating opportunity for women through education," says Piland. "Who knows how lives will be touched by these scholarships? We're helping fulfill important dreams for the future."
MB Piland Wins 12 ADDY Awards
The ADDYs are always a great night: lots of impressive work is on display from the many talented people in this region. This year's entries included entries from Topeka, Lawrence and Manhattan. MB Piland took home 12 awards for our work done for Boy Scouts/Jayhawk Council, Cretex Concrete, Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce/GO Topeka, Learning Quest, Suntell, To Go Brands and Washburn Endowment Association. Thanks to our clients for allowing us to do award-winning, results-oriented work.
Oh, and we got an award for our own website, too!
Marketing Blogger Rebecca Kellogg posted an interview with us about a nontraditional tactic we used to help our client Kansas Action for Children get a lot of mileage for an important message. We created a book called Helping Hands that featured Kansas children's poems and essays about helping others...
MB Piland Wins Chamber "Best Of" Award
MB Piland received the Best of Atrium award for our "non-tradeshow display" display at the 2009 Business Expo on October 27. We created a groovy lounge theme—complete with clubby music and pink-tinis.
